This is a fun board that utilizes many of the available tools and different bonus structures offered to board designers. It appears to be a good mix and the games I have played have been fun, but most of the map can be avoided and capitals play too big of a role in how the board plays.
I think this board offers a great twist on the standard world map style game with a good use of negative bonuses. I find that it is most fun to play with light fog as other fog types ruin the ability to take advantage of the negative bonuses.
This is a great map that requires patience in the beginning as well as a little luck. It is a great non-standard map for new players to try and is fun for players who are use to non-standard risk maps.
Most players learn early on that staying in the branches is the best way to start and leads to the most enjoyable end-game for the victor.
This is a great board with many ways to win.
The graphics are nice and it is very easy to determine how the board works and plays. With that said, there does not seem to be a clearly winning strategy. At least, every time I think I have come up with the best way to play, someone comes along and shows me why it doesn't work. I encourage anyone reading this to give the map a try.
Very close to the standard risk map with a few minor modifications. With the overlay to make the map look like it has been painted, it is often the case that colors are hard to distinguish and it is easy to miss a territory or two of to the side.
Without the overlay, I would give the board a better rating as it attempts to open up Australia and offers a slightly different take on the standard world map.
Great for beginners and beyond who like the graphics.
This map has probably the best balance a three player map can offer. There is almost never a clear winner until their barrier is broken and the flags are taken.
As has been said, there are several strategies that can be employed successfully on this board.
A player will usually find that there is never a turn where they have enough units to do everything they would like to and this leads to many compromises.
Excellent use of capitals and a very easily understood non-standard board.
Pretty much your standard risk map, fun for quick epic battles with many players. Since the map plays with the standard rules, it is an easy and good place for beginners on wargear to start. The graphics for this board are good and all bonuses are easily seen.
This board is the best fog board I have played. In the beginning you can see everything (almost), but as you build your corner of the dungeon so do the other players and you lose sight of their position. The torches are great for getting an idea of how players have built up, but exploring is the only true way to know who is running the Dungeon.
Edward Nygma, this board is a fantasic low unit map with excellent gameplay, something Mongrel and I have discussed for a very long time. This game requires strategic chesslike moves along with agressive attacks to be successful. Whether you win or lose, you will have a great experience playing this map. Maybe you will create some alternative versions? Either way, keep up the great work and create more fun and interesting boards.
